We are looking for a list of all Fire Departments in the United
States, complete with their Fire Department ID numbers.  It is
important that they have the ID numbers listed by Fire Department. 
Counties must also be included.  If you have information about the
population of the counties, that would be a bonus.

The largest fire department database that I know of has about 75-80%
of fire departments listed.

However, I am not aware of any nation-wide fire department ID number system.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by ID numbers?

For researchers - FDIDs (Fire Department ID) are assigned at a state level.
