How do I find out where Crown land is available to purchase in BC, for residential use? Does the price vary? What is the procedure for purchasing it? How long does it take? I am looking for land specifically near Revelstoke in BC. Do you have to be a Canadian citizen to buy Crown Land? Thanks, Andy. |

Alas, it won't be possible, as it seems: "How do I acquire Crown land? British Columbia no longer provides land for homesteading. Crown land is available for sale or lease at fair market value for specific purposes. Where land is readily available through the real estate market, it will not be supplied from the Crown land base, which is already needed for many competing uses." http://srmwww.gov.bc.ca/clrs/faq/index.html Scriptor |

Thanks for your reply. It seems as though some people do acquire Crown land in BC for residential property though. See http://www2.lwbc.bc.ca/ApplicationPosting/index.jsp for some current applications. |
