Hello agv20,
Are you most interested in what newspapers have the most "global" or
"international" leadership, or simply the largest audiences overall?
In addition, what types of countries would you classify as developing countries?
Thanks,

Hello Keystroke,
The largest international audiences overall (not largest single US
readership, or chinese readership or Indian readership or British
readership: that search would retrieve just tabloids like "The Sun" or
"People mag"). I am interested in publications that have a global
readership and reach the most people on the seven continents.
By developing country I mean countries with low-income average as
defined by UNESCO, UN, World-bank but I am most concerned about
Africa, Southeast Asia, Latin America, indian subcontinent and x-USSR.
Hope this helps. V much looking forward to hearing from you.

I D REALLY LIKE AN ANSWER... (and am no tycoon...). Am I stating it
badly? Failing to clarify it acceptably? or is the price wrong?

Hello agv20,
I've just now checked back on this answer. The problem with your
question is the "global readership" requirement. I can find the
most-read magazines and newspapers in the world, but those are going
to be mostly read in America and Europe. I can find the most-read
newspapers and magazines in certain developing countries, but they are
certainly not going to be "The Economist" or "Newsweek." This is
basically two different questions combined into one.
For instance-- The Economist does have a global readership. I believe
they have one million subscribers, but half of those are in America.
Do I include it or not include it as it's global but might not be read
as much as local papers in developing countries? It's just a tricky
question that is hard for a researcher to answer.
You could post an alternate question asking what are the most widely
read periodicals in developing countries; that might get you a better
answer.
