I am conducting research on the first chapter of William Placher's
"Narratives of a Vulnerable God", and need some help finding
information about the text. Any articles with critical questions and
analysis would be most helpful, but other information (including
background information) would be fine as well. Thank you for your
help and please e-mail me if you have any questions.

patrick646-ga,

I've listed below some sources of information that should be useful for you.

Some of these are fully available online, but others are only
summarized or mentioned online, and you may want to get a print copy
from the library for your research.

There isn't a great deal of written analysis of Placher's work, but
several of the resources below go into considerable depth.

Let me know if there's anything else you need on this, beyond the list provided.

Cheers,

pafalafa-ga

...Vulnerability...To ?desire affectionately? is to desire intimacy,
and to desire intimacy is to risk vulnerability. In Narratives of a
Vulnerable God, William Placher underscores the significance of
vulnerability for Christian faith. His argument, in brief, is that
since God in Christ loved humanity so as to risk vulnerability, so too
must the community of believers be willing to risk vulnerability...
