Assume you have a book product you sell on your site, have a lively discussion board with over 50K members, and a newsletter mailing list (targeted, opt-in members) of over 500K. The whole operation is held together under the umbrella of a very focused brand name. There are several revenue streams of this brand/site. There is the book itself, the ability to advertise on the boards, also you can rent our your targeted list of 500K to other marketers who want to generate leads in a similar business segment. A bigger company would want can acquire your brand/site and integrate into their company, or use their expertise to take the entire operation to new heights. How would such a brand/site be priced to sell? What variables would come into play? (This of Myspace and some smaller type of media brands.) |

That's helpful, but I'm talking about an entire brand, not just a small website. 1 million members in a subscribed list (targeted, opt-in), a wide audience consumer product with a price point of over $100 per unit, and 50K active members in a community to start with... |
