What are the best (easy to use, stimulating, reliable) online assets
(such as free downloads, templates, guides, online training, video,
audio or e-books) for Small Businesses Starting up?
I don't want:
Business Hotline or Directors Briefings publications (I already have these)
Business Link website links (I have these)
BPlans or Cobweb data - I am aware of these
I have a strong preference for free, unrestricted access, non-profit
or institutional content. I don't want content that would have to be
paid for or that is overtly promotional.
The list of URLs and a description of the content should come in a
spreadsheet form. It should be mostly from UK web sites, always be a
hyperlink. There should be a brief description of the class of item
against each such as: "Downloadable template", then a cut and paste
description (if available) about the item.
The items should cover the following topics:
Bookkeeping (invoicing, cost recording, payment reconciliation)
Creating financial forecasts (budgets, estimates and projections)
Pricing
Taxation, National Insurance, PAYE, Value Added Tax
Credit control (collecting overdue money, extending credit)
Writing a business plan
Getting funding to start up
Understanding Directors responsibilities
Finding and moving into business premises
Motivating and managing myself
Developing my product or service
Protecting intellectual property
Setting up a web site
Starting a Franchise
Forming a company or partnership
Employing people
Marketing on the web (search engine and email)
Personal Selling
Direct Marketing and advertising
Recruiting staff
Multiple resources are encouraged for each topic but a maximum of 5 of
the best will suffice.
