Hello Bob1928,
The first step is to locate where your Picasa album files are
stored. My version of Picasa automatically makes albums under the ?My
Documents? folder. Yours may be there, or under ?My Pictures? folder,
which is also found under ?My Documents? folder. You don?t need to
have Picasa open while you insert the picture into Word, you just need
to know where the folders with the albums are located!
===Open MS Word
===Click on: ?Insert?, located on the tool bar directly under the blue
banner that says Microsoft Word.
===From this menu, click on ?Picture?
===Select ?From File?. This is where you need to know where your
Picasa albums are stored. Once you locate the album, double click on
it, and select the photo you want to insert into the Word document.
You may double click on the picture, or highlight it and click
?Insert?
===Once the picture is in the document, click on it to make the
?handles? appear. Handles are the black box with smaller squares in
each corner, allowing you to resize the picture.
===Click ?Format? on the tool bar (it may be necessary to click the
double downward pointing arrows to cause the menu to expand) and
select ?Picture?
===From the dialogue box that pops up, you can resize the picture ?
here you can select whether you want the picture behind the text, or
wrap text around the picture. It?s pretty easy, and you can play
around to get the effect you want.
===You can also, while the picture is selected (with handles), select ?Format?,
?Borders? and ?shading?, to make a colored frame around the picture.
I?ve helped many people do this, and the biggest quandary is locating
the album containing the pictures!
I don?t see anything about this function in the Picasa directions!

Good luck!
If anything is unclear, please request an Answer Clarification, and
allow me to respond, before you rate!
Sincerely, Crabcakes
