I would like to disable DMA on my Mac OS X drive (crashed) to see if I
will get better results with dd that way. I get DMA errors when
accessing it when booted from a gentoo ppc livecd but can't get my
firewire drive to show up as a device when booted in gentoo (have
investigated that also). hdparm is not available in OS X and
'diskutil' does not provide this option.... suggestions? I guess I
would also pay for an .iso that would boot my powerbook and show my
lacie firewire drive as a device
