I use Visual Studio 2005 with Visual Studio Team Foundation Server set up as my current source control plug-in. when I compare the differences between historical versions of a source controlled file (using File | Source Control | Compare... or any other method) the Differences window always opens centered on my primary display in a restored state and is about 75% the width of the display and 75% the height of the display. Ideally I would like to be able to have the position of the window remembered, meaning that if I move it or if I maximize it and close it, the next time I see that window it will be in the same location. I would also be satisfied if I can make a change somewhere (for example to a file or a registry entry) that will always make the window open in a particular location (I want to be able to have the window split across two side-by-side displays and take up 100% of the width and the top 80% of the height of the combined displays.) Help about the differences window can be found at this location: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/c0ds9z1f.aspx I use Visual Studio 2005 with the following installed features and products from the Help | About dialog (product keys have been removed) Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Version 8.0.50727.42 (RTM.050727-4200) Installed Edition: Enterprise * Microsoft Visual Basic 2005 * Microsoft Visual C# 2005 * Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 * Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System * Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Software Developers * Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team Explorer Version 8.0.50727.147 * Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services Version 9.00.2047.00 * Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services Designer Version 9.00.1399.00 * Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Designers Version 9.00.1399.00 * Team Foundation PowerToys 1.0 |
