i am looking for screenshots of the early ebay (formely AuctionWeb)
website. i have used www.archive.org to try to find them, however they
only go back to 1997 and i was wondering if anyone had any earlier
screenshots of what the site looked like.

Are you looking for screenshots of just the top page?  Are you mainly
interested in the 1995 version of AuctionWeb/eBay or would the '96
version do?
