Dear badbaddog-ga;

Thank you for allowing me to answer your interesting question. In
1991, minor league baseball banned the use of smokeless tobacco at the
rookie level and in 1993 extended the ban throughout all of minor
leagues. Off the field use of tobacco was banned at all minor league
clubhouse sites in 1994. While Major League Baseball once banned the
use of smokeless tobacco at the All-Star game in 1997, a league-wide
ban at all games faced opposition from the players? union. MLB
encourages players not to carry tobacco tins or ?cans? in their
pockets during a game so that they are visible to impressionable
children, but (as of now) the use to tobacco itself during a televised
game is not prohibited though there are recurring pressures to do so.

I hope you find that my answer exceeds your expectations. If you have
any questions about my research please post a clarification request
prior to rating the answer. Otherwise I welcome your rating and your
final comments and I look forward to working with you again in the
near future. Thank you for bringing your question to us.

If you want an example, watch any Jared Wright outing for the Yankees.
He always, and I mean always, has a giant mouth full of chew.
