Hi adamani,

The second row as in the row
directly behind the driver seat,
or the second 'bench' row?

Width the only important factor?
No height restrictions?

thanks,
-AI

Thanks. The row directly behind the drivers seat. Height is not so
much an issue as distance from the ground - the lower the better.
Trying to find the largest, lowest opening for someone with a
disability.

You can find a list of manufacturers and shops dealing in SUVs/Vans
that are accessible (lowered floors, conversions etc..) at the
following website: http://www.blvd.com/Accessible_Vehicles/SUVs_and_Trucks/

Hope that helps,
Ali

As minivan ramp providers are probably compatible with the
closest-to-already-accessible vehicles, you'd probably find your best
bets with the following models:

Chrysler's Town & County Minivan, Plymouth Voyager Minivan, Dodge
Caravan, Ford Windstar Minivan

Those are the vehicles that the "IMS Mobility Rampvan" works with.

I know some people who solved a similar situation by having a simple
wooden step made (solid, non-slip etc.) which the able-bodied members
of the family could easily lift in and out of the minivan. This way
they avoided the expense of buying a specially adapted vehicle.
