When I try to open outlook a microsof error box pops up with the following message:

Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Unable to open the outlook window.

I am running MS Windows XP and Outlook 2003. I tried searching for my
outlook.pst file and the microsoft search application did not find it.
I have a ton of emails and contacts that I do not want to lose. Not to
mention the fact that my email isn't working.

Since, there is not *one* simple solution to this particular problem,
I have found several sites for you to look at. Apparently quite a few
people have been in this same situation. Please take a look at the
explanations and let me know if any of them help:

There is one simple solution to this problem. It is clear that the
program files for Outlook are corrupt or missing. Barring excrutiating
work and confusion, remove outlook and possible the entirety of the
Office suite that you have and reinstall it. Sometimes things just
stop working .. back up your pst file by copying it from the Local
Settings / Application Data / Outlook / directory under your profile
to another location .. when you have completed the reinstall ...
import the old pst file via File Import
