We import from Taiwan directly from the factory. The products that we
import are decorative hardware (door hardware, hinges, shower rods,
etc.). We have found an individual in Taiwan that would like to be our
agent or employee. They are asking how we would like to structure
their compensation. They would not be tied to one factory and could
source goods from multiple factories for us. They would be responsible
for checking quality, making sure goods are properly packaged, procure
samples and find factories to produce goods for us. We would like to
know how USA based companies structure agreements with agents. If the
agent is paid a percentage of the order, how much is that typically?
Also, how do companies ensure that the agent is truthful about the
price from the factory? If the agent is a direct employee of the buyer
(us) what is a typical salary / compensation package? |
