Hello Mao,

Brick House Security offers a number of excellent alternatives.

ionKids Child Monitor & Locator System

Never Lose Your Children at the Mall Again!

?When the individual leaves a user-defined range, an alarm sounds on
the portable Base Unit carried by the parent. The Base Unit can be put
into "Find Mode," used to assist in directing parents back to their
children. Each Base Unit can monitor up to 4 tamper-proof Bracelets
simultaneously, allowing up to 4 children to be monitored from a
single Base Unit."

"If the tamper-proof Bracelet is removed from the child's wrist, a
tamper alarm sounds instantly at the Base Unit to alert parents.
Because the ionKids Child Monitor & Locator signal is not transmitted
via cell towers, there are no recurring monthly charges."

"Using the ionKids child monitor and locator, in addition to tracking
your child, you can set an outside "safety zone" of up to 350 feet; if
a child wanders out of their zone, ionKids triggers an alarm. A Find
button activates the locator, which helps you zone in on your child or
loved one.?

Back in the 60's parents employed a novel, fascinating way of keeping
an eye on their kids.

Sometimes it involved handholding. Sometimes it involved mommy or
daddy talking and interacting with the child to make sure (s)he was
within a couple of feet of them. Sometimes it involved mommy saying,
"If you let go of mommy's coat, mommy will give you such a potch on
your tuchus you'll eat standing up for a week."

Truth be told, the ionKids child monitor sounds neat. I may get one
for one of the more adventurous cats.

I used to keep my young son in a harness attached to a leash!!!

I had too...he was very active and tended to roam..I lost him once.

So although, many people frowned at us as I "walked" my son on a leash
at the mall, at least he was never lost or abducted.
