As I understand, a domain controller on Windows Server allows a
network administrator to centrally manage users, passwords, and access
rights from a single location. Can a linux server be used instead to
authenticate Windows XP users and computers, instead of using Windows
Server? (This is mainly for cost savings) If so, what features or
keywords should I search for, or what books, internet sites, or other
resources should I get to learn how to do this. By the way, this is
for a small network - less than 10 users / computers. However, I am
trying to learn something a little more advanced than peer / workgroup
networking. Thanks!
