Hi, I am the parent of a high school student-athlete. I'm looking for
a personal trainer or coach to help my son with the sports he's
playing. We're looking for someone who specializes in specifically
football (American, not soccer) and not someone who is a
weightlifting trainer. Someone like Steve Clarkson who coaches Jimmy
Clausen. We live in the New Jersey-New York metropolitan area (New
Jersey preferably) so any trainer or coach in that area who
specializes in football at the running back/wide receiver position
would be acceptable.

We are also looking for a track coach in the New Jersey-New York City
area. Someone who can help my son develop into a better athlete in
terms of speed. Thank You.

Hello krugs,

I found a few options that might help your son with his training. Let
me know if these would suit your needs. There is not a particular
private football trainer that I could find in northern NJ or NYC with
a business similar to Steve Clarkson's. There are sports trainers who
work at a sports performance center, however.

There are many athletes on staff who can give private training. In
addition, there is a speed specialist on hand.

Thank you keystroke for your time and research. However, that's not
exactly what I had in mind. I have a friend who sent his son to
Velocity. It is more group training rather than individual and they
didn't think highly of the training.

I'm looking for someone who provides individual training for football
or track in New Jersey(preferably)/New York.

So I guess no expert has been able to find what I'm looking for. Are
there any personal track coaches in the area?

Has anyone heard or know anything about the Sports University Athletic
Training Facility in Fairfield, NJ?

Thanks for your help bo7a. I've seen this website before and was
interested. But what specifically do they do? Are they just involved
in weight loss and helping you get stronger? Or do they train for
actual sports with sports specific training?

from what I can see they seem to be a full service training facility.
Better get on it, i hear training for football in a new jersey winter is hell :)
