1. I am interested in details of any ROM (Read Only Memory)- based PC
that has been developed, manufactured or marketed. This might be a
product of an existing hardware supplier, or by a university
department.
By ROM-based, I mean that the PC (whether box-type or laptop) has ONLY
ROM and no RAM or hard disk. It would therefore not be vulnerable to
viruses or have moving parts to fail. (Files etc would be saved onto
an external drive).
Answer: would include name of company/ manufacturer/ university; and a
description of the product.
Note: I already have some details on Ink Media's product, but have not
managed to find out any information on any similar products that may
be available or in development.
2. I am interested in any public comment on Ink Media, Inc. - In
particular news reports. This is a Canadian based company (British
Columbia). Particularly interested in (1) any comment on their product
(e.g. on blogs etc), (2) likelihood of success, and (3) reputation of
their management team (in particular William Plant (former CEO of the
Production Plant) and Gerry Morgan (former CEO of Morgan Media and
former CIO of Education-on-line)
Note: I already have the company's own literature - I am looking for
other people's views on the business and management. |
