Question ID: 772535
I have recently reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows XP Home on my computer.
I believe the onboard soundcard uses realtek AC'97 Software/Drivers

I have tried installing the drivers a few times, with different
versions obtained from various sources on the Internet including the
realtek website.

During the installation of these drivers the computer will do a brutal
reset, meaning no proper shutdown of windows or prior warning.

Upon load up the "Windows has recovered from a critical error" message
appears. When I click on the link to get more information it says it
was caused by the realtek drivers and there is no known solution to
this issue at this time.

My question is, is there a known solution to this issue? and if so can
you provide it?

Thank you,
Joel Herzog
