Yes, you're right that if it's on the net, then it's up for grabs by
anyone who can manage to find it. Nevertheless, Google Answers' FAQ
states the following:

determine how Google management really does see this.

ALthough the rule is clear, in practice it's a grey area. Say we are
able to track down personal information but it's not technically
"public" --in that case we can explain how we found it (give
directions), or in some cases link to a page that has it visible. It
really depends on the context in which the information appears, etc,
and whether we can discern whether this information is authorized to
be in the publics eyes.

In the case of "Princess Mandy" --her real name is Amanda Lee
Williford. She has morphed through many name changes for various
reasons. As to her contact information, there is information about

the first part of my comment was a subtle (evidently a little too
subtle) way of suggesting that if you are happy with cynthia's answer,
you might invite her to post it as an answer so she can get paid.

the second part of my comment was admittedly a little off topic.  i
was simply expressing admiration for the turn of phrase you used.  i
just liked the way it sounded.

in the third part of my comment, i returned to the matter of cynthia
posting an answer, specifically theorizing why she did not do so.  my
theory was that she did not want to spend large quantities of time
clarifying her answer, which, you must admit shoaib, you are quite
likely to request if a researcher answers one of your questions. 
surprisingly, even after seeing it happen to qed100, for some reason
it did not occur to me that the same kind of trap might await a
commenter.

but, having walked right into it, i guess i deserve whatever happens
to me.  so if you require further clarifiaction of my comment, please
