Post your state and the county in which the house resides. I, or
someone else, will provide what you need. We can't do anything though,
till we know where you are.

NEVER buy property without title insurance. The title company will do
the search for you and insure the property against liens.

When I recently bought my house I had a choice of either paying $1200
for title insurance or checking the property myself. I went to the
local courthouse and the charming people there just needed the name of
the vendor in order to pull up all of the details I needed. At a
glance I was able to see that there were no liens and two mortgages.
To look was free, to get a hard copy was $5. Of course if you are
getting a mortgage you will have no say in the matter but remember if
a title search has been conducted in the last 10 years you should be
able to negotiate a discount on the outrageous fee.
