I am looking for any information regarding the economic activity and
standing of Medieval Kyoto. The Medieval period of Japan was defined
as the Kamakura and Muromachi periods. Kyoto was the capital during
both of these periods. I know trade was limited because of Japan's
isolation but what was their economy based on? Thank you.
