Traditionally, online credit card processors are used to process
payments for online stores, etc. These processors typically charge a
monthly fee (~$25-50) and a percentage of the amount (.5 to 1.5%) per
transaction.

My question is that I am looking for a credit card processing company
that will charge solely a fixed monthly fee for a non profit
corporation. Or even for free!

We do not mind paying the monthly fee, but (.5% to 1.5%) on tens of
thousands or perhaps hundreds of thousands of dollars each month will
amount to a huge amount of fees.

If this helps, it also helps the credit card company because their
services could be tax deductible.

Thanks

As Jeff said, I agree that you will most likely just have to pay a
percentage. The standard process is to charge 1-2 percent in fees on
each transaction. You may be able to get a processor that only charges
a percentage and no monthly fee; would that work for you?

Other than that, you could just have people mail checks to your
organization and tell them that that will help you more than an online
donation because of the credit card fees involved. If they're donating
thousands of dollars, I don't see why they'd mind going the extra mile
to make sure your nonprofit gets the money.

In my experience working daily with large non profits and their
processing needs, we sell fundraising software for large non profits,
I think you're out of luck.

Any companies that we deal with for CC processing charge a fee which
is negotiable. Unfortunately, they all seem to charge a percentage
rather than a flat fee.

Please understand that CC processing vendors have an expensive
infrastructure to maintain in order to provide security for client
data. They make their money by charging a percentage.

I wish you luck in finding a great vendor!! If you come across one,
please post it on here so others can take advantage!
