Hello all, I am hoping you can help me find an art print or poster of the New York City skyline with the following specifications: - showing the twin towers - a daytime shot - with a view from the west (New Jersey) This is somewhat of a sentimental gift I would like to buy for a family member. This family member sent an email describing their view of the NYC skyline. A quote from that email is below. This is the view I would like to try and find. "...that's the view I had for the 3 years I commuted via bus from NJ to Port Authority in Manhattan. Right before the bus swung around to go into the Lincoln Tunnel I had the perfect view of the skyline, and got to watch the building of the towers from 1970-73.." I have already performed a search for such a poster/art print on all the "major" art print and poster sites (allposters.com, art.com, etc.) but did not find one with all the specifications. If found, the item will need to be available off the Internet or at a major retail chain store. I would prefer it to be unframed (I will frame it myself). Can the wonderful searchers of Google Answers help? | |

I'm not from NY, but if pinkfreud's answer is correct, I believe this photographic print may be of interest. New York Skyline: http://www.respree.com/product/pages/sku/LEUR1030-5005 |

Another idea .. depending on your budget ... maybe you could hire a photographer to take a nice panoramic photo from that exact spot described in the email. -K~ |

I an a New Yawker and respree-ga's print is a teeny bit further south, but extremely close to the view being described. It should be perfect. The "Artist Unknown" bit bothers me a little... Sounds like a little copyright infrigement going on... And, knowledge_seeker-ga, taking that picture is not an option. The opportunity passed on September 11th, 2001 ... when that particular landscape was drastically altered ;~) bcguide-ga |

This website contains some photos taken by a passenger who travled into NYC via the Lincoln Tunnel. http://www.unur.com/sinan/opinions/010923.html Presumably the photo on the bottom is similar to the one you want. Unfortunately I haven't had much luck locating a print for-sale that has this view. -blinkwilliams-ga |

Hi! I recently visited the top of the Empire State bldg. (something I'd never done in my 16 years of living a half hour away from it- only now that I live in CA and go visit have I gone) and I purchased a long panoramic photographic print there...even though mine is taken at dusk you can see all very well as everything is lit up...and it shows the Twin Towers way off to the right. This doesn't sound like what you're looking for, but I comment because I remember they had about 8 different Manhattan skylines in the shop and maybe one would do for you. So I suggest calling the giftshop atop the ESB or looking on the web or calling the company that produced the one I have and I think the others...Blakeway Worldwide Panoramas Inc. I hope something in this LONG comment is helpful! |
