Dear research_help,
Not much about this specific property is available from the online
sources available to the public, but here is what I found:
The property at 140 E Main Street in Bath, Northampton County,
Pennsylvania is a lot occupied by two buildings which belong together.
The lot as such has the Parcel ID Number K6NW4C 18 12 0503. It is
classified as a lot with commercial use, under the land use code NIP
(Neighborhood Improvement Program), Warehousing/Manufacturing. The
Geographic Information System (GIS) PIN of the lot is 5162-05-5621-40,
and it belongs to Northampton School District. The utilities are all
public, and the street before the lot is paved, with a sidewalk.
The lot is stretched rectangular, with the narrow sides at Main Street
(front) and Rohr Street (back) measuring 40' each.
The total size of the parcel is 8680 sq.ft. Its current land value is $28,150.
The structure located at the parcel's narrow side facing Main Street
is a former residential building erected in 1928. It is a two-storey
house with originally three bedrooms, a joist and wood frame
construction. The building has been assigned Land Use Code 401, which
means that it has been converted into an office building. The total
area covered by this building at ground floor level is 1692 sq.ft.;
however, the basement gross floor area is only 1216 sq.ft.
Behind this front building, there is the second structure. It is a
long, barn-like building, probably a warehouse or something similar.
Its character is a bit unclear, since it has been classified under
Land Use Code 319, which is not included in the list of Northampton
County Land Use Codes.
This structure has two storeys and is a joist and wood frame
construction, too. But it is significantly older than the house facing
Main Street, having been erected in 1840 according to the records.
The two buildings have currently a combined value of $131,800. Land
and buildings together have a value of $160,000.
Two sales of this property are recorded in the online databases of
Northampton County. The first took place on 1 January 1979. No sale
price is listed, but the sale is recorded in print, Deed Book and Page
624 - 001084.
The second sale took place on 26 September 2000. The sale price was
$147,500; see also Deed Book and Page 2000-1 - 126285. The current
owner is one Mr. Richard Spanos; for reasons of privacy, I am
unfortunately not allowed to disclose contact information or the like
here.
This is what I could find out from the public records made available
by Northampton County. For some additional information - sketches of
the building's ground floors, a map showing the exact location and
shape of the parcel, and two
photographs of the structures - please follow this link. It will take
you to the property records database of Northampton County. Enter the
