Our housekeeper broke my wife's Hummel figurine that her Grandmother gave her. It's estimated to be from the 1950's - 1960's era. However, the housekeeper broke it, threw it out, then left us a note, so we have no idea what it's called. I've been on Google, and various Hummel sites and forums to no avail. My Wife and her mother believe 98% that it is Hummel. The description is a little boy and little girl sitting on a bench. The boy, girl, and the bench are all separate and I believe the wooden bench is possibly wood or plastic. Looking for avenues to buy this figurine to replace it for my wife. | |

Go to the garbage and get it! Take a picture of it, broken, so we know what we are looking for. How irresponsible to have just thrown it away and left a note! |

I expect that the remains are long gone, if x6xfactor-ga has already been searching Google for the figurine. Are you describing that the boy, girl and bench were three separate pieces? I believe all Hummel figurines are one ceramic piece, and cannot imagine that a Hummel figurine - or two - would have been made to sit on a bench of another material. Hummel figurines have been very popular for decades; the style has been copied. |

You're right...it might be a copy and maybe why that's why I'm having a hard time finding it. I did call the Craig's list ad and left a message. I'll keep you posted. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it out of the garbage. don't you think we would've done this? The housekeeper comes the morning of garbage day and puts it out before they pick it up. |

Hi, Perhaps this site can help you decide if the figurine was really a "Hummel", it shows the trademarks used over time. http://nancysgifts.continentalimport.com/hummeltrademarks.html The "bee" became a mark because "Hummel" in German means bumblebee. The people copying Hummel's style produced their own very similar type figurines, not absolute copies. Cheers |

Thanks for everyone's help. I received an email from Craig's list and it's not he correct one. I'm beginning to sense that it's not a Hummel at all. Can't really be if you guys didn't find it. My wife actually found a picture of it, but without the boy for some reason. I wonder if I can email that to someone and they can find out who makes it. Most likely a long shot I'm assuming. |

Upload the image file at Imageshack (it's a free service) and then post the link here, so we can see the figurine. http://www.imageshack.us/ |
