Hi!!

First of all I think you have mispelled the file name, the correct
spelling is Yimage.dll, you probably saw it written with a capital i
that looks like an l. This is a file related to the Yahoo! Messenger.

There is two possible scenarios here, you (or some program)
uninstalled the messenger and the problem started here or you cannot
run the messenger.

- Bad uninstallation of Yahoo! Messenger:
This is a common problem that appears due a bad uninstallation of the
Yahoo! Messenger, at start up the system continue asking for the
program but since it was deleted or uninstalled the file is missing.
To get rid from this error message you need to remove the Yahoo!
Messenger from the program start up list of your system, to do that
you can use the Microsoft System Configuration Utility known as
MSCONFIG, for instructions on how to do that see:
"How to use MSCONFIG: NetSquirrel.com"
http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig

If you have Windows 98, Me or XP just click on Start button --> Run
--> type MSCONFIG --> Microsoft System Configuration Utility will be
launched --> select the Start Up tab --> uncheck all the references to
Yahoo! Messenger you find --> click the OK button and reboot your
computer. If all was well you will not receive a message claiming for
the Yimage.dll file.
Delete the c:\program files\yahoo!\messenger\ folder if exists.

If you have Windows 2000 you can download the msconfig file from here:
http://downloads.thetechguide.com/msconfig.zip

Just unzip it in your desktop and run it.
Or you can try a free tool called "Startup Control Panel":
http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml

- You cannot use the messenger:
In the case that the problem is due a bad installation of the
messenger or if the file was accidentally deleted you can download it
from here:
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?yimage

You can also get it from here:
http://www.nerdhelp.com/downloads/YImage.zip

Remember that its default location is:
c:\program files\yahoo!\messenger\yimage.dll

So unzip the dll file in such folder (c:\program
files\yahoo!\messenger\). Also unzip it in the folder
C:\Windows\System32 folder or C:\Windows\SYSTEM

If after that you cannot run the messenger try to download and
reinstall the messenger again.

I hope this helps you. Please do not consider this answer ended until
your problem is solved, feel free to use the clarification feature all
the times you need. I will be glad to offer you further assistance to
solve this problem if you need it.

I think that means that you have lost a driver. One of the ways to get
all your drivers back is to restart your computer and watch for the
startup screen which offers the option of system recovery, usually
started with PF10 key. You do this and your computer will be
completely restored, just like the day you bought it and turned it on
and you will have your Ylmage.dll driver back. Don't worry, you won't
lose any emails or softwares or anything that you have added. This
process takes 40 minutes, but it is really worth it because you get
everything up and running again and you get rid of any virus trails,
such as the one that wiped out your driver. Hope this helps!

I wouldn't follow u8min-ga's advice. There is no need to restore your
computer and I'm not sure those directions are correct anyway.
livioflores-ga advice sounds good but your problem may also be solved
simply by re-installing Yahoo Messenger. You can download a copy
from Yahoo (http://messenger.yahoo.com/) and rerun it. If it asks you
to "repair" try that first as this often checks for missing files. If
that doesn't work and you don't mind the possibility of loosing your
Yahoo! Messenger settings (not friends, just prefrences) they
uninstall the program and reisntall it again.

Good Luck!
