I am looking for my paternal great great grandfathers parents and
family. His name was Michael(or Micah) James Redmon. He was born in
1825 in Brown Co. Ohio. He married Susannah Troy Sep.17, 1848, in
Clermont Co. Ohio. They had 11 children. Nehusta B: Nov. 1849,
married Joel Manning. Samuel Sinas (my great grandfather) B: 1851,
married Mary Catherine Thomas. Mary Viola, Eunice Elizabeth, Ida May,
Albert, Martha Jane, Alice Bell,Emma Lenore, Frances Olive, and Jesse.
Michael and Susan moved to Hancock co. Indiana around 1852. Susan's
brother Samuel A. Troy moved there first from Ohio. He was a doctor.
I don't have any info on their parents either. In a short bio on
Samuel, it said he was orphaned at an early age. They also might have
a brother Christopher. Michael served in the Civil War in the 99th B
Indiana Infantry. He was sick a good deal of the time. He was sickly
the rest of his life. They moved to Francesville, Pulaski Co.,
Indiana around 1872. In 1874 Michael and Susannah died about three
weeks from each other. Susan first about two months after her last
baby, Jesse a girl, was born. Jesse was adopted out, but died at two
years old. The first several oldest kids were married. My great
grandfather had already moved west to Madison, Greenwood, Kansas. The
other youngest kids were sent to the old soldier and sailors home in
Indiana. Albert and Martha Jane died in 1878. I think family kept
the kids after awhile. Samuel Troy raised Alice Bell, who married
George Wilson. Our family legend tells us that Michael was born in
Ireland, but I find on the census records, he says Ohio. I would very
much like to make the connection to when the family might have come
over from Ireland. It's possible the Troy's were from there too. I
know that my great grandfather Samuel S. Redmon belonged to the Church
of the Brethern. I think the family had for generations. If anyone
could help me make this connection I would be very grateful! Thank
you.

The father of Samuel A. Troy was born in West Virginia, whereas the
mother was born in Kentucky,
i.e. according to the "1880 United States Census":

The parents of a Christopher Troy (born in Ohio, two years older than
Samuel A.) were, according to the "1880 United States Census", both
born in Ohio:

Just in case, you're interested: Samuel A. Troy died in 1899 (January
or May), his wife Martha in 1898:
