I would like to automatically, on a daily basis, back up key computer files to a USB flash drive. I know that USB hard drive enclosures exist that do what I am asking for, but I would prefer just to use a 2 GB USB flash drive. This question has a few parts: Is there a USB flash drive that already has backup software in it for this purpose. What software could I use to automatically, daily back up key files to a USB flash drive that does not have software on it? How do I password protect, or otherwise make the data on the USB flash drive secure. I am concerned that someone could just unplug the USB drive and download. It is important that this all be done daily, without acitive user input. the data without anyone knowing about it. | |

Hello latexbuster, Thank you for bringing your question to Google Answers. Finger print USB drives could be perfect for you! http://www.eyenetwatch.com/USB_hard_drive/secure.htm For the backup utility, you can use NTBACKUP. Click START -> Run then type ntbackup and click ADVANCED from the first screen. That should allow you to configure a scheduled backup to the USB key. If you need any additional clarification before rating, let me know and I'll be glad to assist you. --keystroke-ga |

Just use the Win built in backup utility , it has the option for scheduling backups and you don't have to install anything. |
