Dear David,
This has proved to be not such an easy task. First of all, most of
Cornfeld's activity was not in the 1970s but in the 1960s (when things
like that haven't been often filmed). He did not sell through
seminars, but through door-to-door salesmen, especially to small
investors in Europe. Investors Overseas Service was also not a sales
organisation, but a mutual fund selling company.
You can read about both here:
Bernard Cornfeld
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Cornfeld
IOS
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Investors_Overseas_Service
Second, unless someone uploads such a film online, it wouldn't be
there. I have searched through numoerous video databases and archives
to no avail.
However, there are off-line copies available. Cornfeld was the subject
of two German television documentaries:
* "Bernard Cornfeld - Idolfigur eines Volkskapitalismus?" , produced
and aired by WDR television in 1970
* "V.I.P.-Schaukel", episode 4.2, produced and aired by the ZDF
television in 1974 (in cooperation with the Austrian Broadcasting
Corporation, ORF)
Regrading the first one, I couldn't get straight answers from WDR
television. I suggest that you'd contact the film archive yourself:
Westdeutscher Rundfunk Köln
Filmarchive
Appellhofplatz 1
50667 Köln
Germany
(Website: <http://www.wdr.de/themen/homepages/homepage.jhtml>).
However, regarding the second one, ZDF told me that they have the film
in their archive and that they will be able to send you a copy upon
postal request. You should write to:
Programmservice
ZWEITES DEUTSCHES FERNSEHEN
ZDF-Straße 1
55127 Mainz
Germany
(Website: http://www.zdf.de/)
In your letter, as mentioned before, you shouldn't only note the name
of the programme (V.I.P.-Schaukel) but also the name of the episode
(episode 2, season 4, aired on 7 August 1974) and that it is about
Bernie Cornfeld (please note that the actual spelling is different
than yours).
I hope this answers your question. Please contact me if you need any
clarification on this answer before you rate it. |

Hi, thanks for answer. I assume, the TV-stations film is are critical
things about Bernie.
As mentioned in my question, I am looking for a film, where Bernie
is giving a speach or a seminar.
There is such a film arround. I have seen it many years ago, Bernie
leaning at a bar chair in Geneva, Switzerland, giving one of his
famous explanations.

Dear David,
Could you please tell me more about the circumstances in which you saw
that movie? Where, when, etc.? Whatever you remember, even the
smallest clue, would help me help you.

Hello,
I saw this black and white 30 minute movie during a sales presentation
many years ago.
Eventually there is a "Bernie Cornfeld" - fan club? Or: the official
successor in Canada could have such in archive.
Thanks

Dear David,
I have contacted a couple of people who might have access to such a
video, one of which is his daughter (hopefully I got her email right,
because she seems most plausible candidate to have such a reel); I
also recommend that you'd register and contact the people here:
Alumni of IOS
<http://www.alumni.net/Europe/Switzerland/Investors_Overseas_Services/>
Those people might have more info. I'll keep you up to date when I get
an answer on my emails. In the meanwhile, if you remember anything
else, it would be nice to hear it. I presume you were an IOS member
yourself?

Wonderful news!
His daughter has just written to me, saying that she might have such a
recording (in beta). She's travelling now, and will back home in about
three weeks time, by which she will look it up!

Got an answer from the daughter (wow, this took time!). She asked what
you need it for and if you still need it.
As you might know, Google Answers is now defunct. I will still care
for you, don't worry. However, you might find it easier to contact me
through my own research site:
