I need links to information about starting and running a home daycare
in the following countries:
United Kingdom
Canada
Australia
New Zealand
South Africa
Ireland
I'm looking for regulations, licensing rules, what insurance is
required, how to get grants, legal information, tax information,
reimbursements (e.g. food programs) as well as how to incorporate (or
that country's equivalent) a small business.
I'm looking for information on home daycare specifically, not offsite
daycare centers, preschools, etc. (although a lot of the information
will overlap). |

Hello marynightingale-ga,
This question requires six complex search projects. I suggest that you
close this question and post six new ones -- one for each country of
interest. That way several researchers can be working on your
questions at the same time and you improve the odds of getting a
partial answer. I don't think you have much of a chance of getting an
answer to the question as posted since researchers are reluctant to
take on a project where the probability is high that some portions of
it are unanswerable.
Good luck.

I agree that you should split these up into six separate questions,
one for each country.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I need information on all these
countries, so I'm going to leave it as one question. If no one is able
to answer the question here, I can always hire someone on Elance to do
it.

Hi marynightingale,
I agree with my colleagues, you need to post one question per country,
not because portions of it may be unanswerable but because the amount
of research is enormous. For example, Canada's daycares/small
businesses do not fall under federal jurisdiction but rather
provincial laws. There are ten provinces that would need to be
researched.
