I want to know what options are available to get the latitude and
longitude of geographic places. These places would be international (I
already have a database that tells me the lat/long for all U.S. zip
codes). For instance, the city Graz, Austria -- how can I get the
latitude longitude for this? I have thousands of locations where we
have a city/province/country and I need to populate a database with
their latitude longitude. So what I'm really looking for is something
that has a database of information I can access in an automated way
using Visual Basic .NET to populate all of this data.

There is NO lat. and Long. EXCLUSIVE to the U.S.A. It is a worldwide
system which means every single place on earth has different
co-ordinates. It is the WHOLE world split into 360 degrees. From the
equator [equally] north and south 90 degrees to each pole and from an
imaginary line [0 degrees] through Greenwich, England both east and
west 180 degress to the International Date Line in the Pacific Ocean.
Have a look at any good globe available in your local geography shop.
Much as I love the Yanks, they seem to think they are the only ones on
the earth of any importance.
