Suddenly my internal loudspeaker on my black macbook has stop working.
I know the speakers are not defect as they work when I boot in windows
(via bootcamp). The audio works fine with headphones. I can not "see"
the speakers under the control panel. Is there any links to other
places where people are having the same problems - and are there any
suggestions to how to fix the problem.

This problem doesn't seem too uncommon, from what I found.
When you unplug the headphones from your headphone jack, is
the headphone jack still glowing red, indicating that it
probably still thinks something is plugged in there?

If so, the following thread from the MacRumors forums may
be helpful. Here's what one user did to fix the problem:

"After reading this thread, I grabbed a plastic tipped Hair
Pin (wives are great assets) tickled the speaker jack, the
optical light went out, and voila, my internal speakers are
 working just fine...."

If you're uncomfortable trying a hairpin, you can always
take it to the shop. The friend of one of the posters on
that thread got a brand new MacBook.

If this resolves your problem, let me know and I'll post a
formal answer...
