Greetings!
*** QUESTION ***
What are the available resources to track investment deals by banks,
real time and worldwide?
*** ANSWER AND SOURCES ***
The resources I have identified are the following:
1. TheDeal.com (www.thedeal.com) -- This was already suggested by
ronin126-ga
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This service provides e-newsletters ($124/year), including the "Daily
Deal Alerts", described as follows: "Stay ahead of the deal-- Get the
latest deal news before anyone else. The Deal will deliver breaking
news to your e-mail so you stay ahead of the competition."
(thedeal.exactis.com/cgi/subscribe.html)
It also provides a search engine for deals ($141/year) for more
specific queries, and the value of the retrievable information is
described as follows:
Save time each day in your daily reading and searching for deal
transaction news and information
Find extensive deal statistics, including the latest league tables,
fees and multiples and our own bankruptcy data
Get regional news from our bureaus in London and Asia and more
breaking news updates throughout the day
Receive full access to our comprehensive deal archives, exclusive
columns and commentary and insightful special reports

Looks good to me. The price is reasonable. The content includes name
of the banker, location, etc. They offer free trials.
2. GlobalEDGAR.com (www.globaledgar.com)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This service allows browsing of company deals by countries (174
countries), by exchange (57 exchanges), and by index (74 indices).
It provides a search capability:
http://www.globalfilings.ws/CorporatePageNew/globalEdgar.html
It provides an email alert service described as follows:
"GlobalEDGAR releases reports on a near-real-time basis or within days
compared to other costly services that typically take days or weeks
Users can setup custom email alerts for any company within the
GlobalEDGAR archive."
The subscription options are described as follows:
Professional Packages
Individual Subscription:a set price per year, you will be provided
with unlimited access to all of the features of GlobalEDGAR. A
promotional rate of $5.95 USD per month will be offered to all
subscribers before March 2003 based on an annual subscription.
Enterprise Subscription: Your corporation can also have unlimited
access to GlobalEDGAR with a corporate log-in for one low annual fee.
Per Report Purchase: Need information on only one or a few companies?
You don't have to subscribe to our full annual service. GlobalEDGAR
will provide you with access to individual reports at the always low
rate of up to $1.99 USD per report.

3. CFO.com (www.cfo.com)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
This service is not so much for real-time tracking. It offers search,
directory, and e-newsletters (including alerts), but the time window
is longer than yesterday, today and tomorrow. However, it complements
fast tracking services like TheDeal.com and GlobalEDGAR.com in that it
provides more detailed content. If you get an alert from a fast
tracking service, but some details are missing such as the names of
the financial executives involved in a deal, you can go to CFO.com and
find them. See a good example:

*** SEARCH STRATEGY ***
My search strategy was to start with TheDeal.com, as ronin126-ga had
suggested.
There I found a link to GlobalEDGAR.com, and I knew about CFO.com.
Several additional google queries brought up other fast tracking
services, but I was not able to find solid evidence of content quality
for them, therefore I cannot recommend them.
*** RESEARCH SUMMARY ***
Two fast tracking services, and one not-so-fast tracking service, were
identified and reviewed for timeliness, quality/reliability of
content, and pricing options. I think that, for the fast tracking
services, content quality is as important as timeliness. Getting the
wrong/incomplete information very fast may actually lead to delays in
providing useful deal information to the tele-marketing team.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Take care,
