I would like a list of the top 1000 universities and colleges (most
students enrolled) in the United States and thier mascot. Also, the
abreviated name shall be included.

The list shall be in the following format:
School Name, short name, Mascot

Example:
University of Michigan, U of M, Wolverines
Michigan State University, MSU, Spartans

Also, please include a sentance or two explaining where you obtained your data. 

1000 entries = 5 star answer
