I am trying to find a recording of Carol Channing singing, "Hello, Lyndon" (a take off on the song, "Hello, Dolly!") which she sang at the 1963 Democratic National Convention in Atlantic City. If anybody can find me either an Mp3 of it, or a CD on which it exists, or any other form in which I can purchase something and hear the original version (not the re-recorded versions done by several artists since) that would be awesome! | |

zoogelsnof-ga, Thanks for giving me the go-ahead on this. The file I referenced is from ABC News, and you can find information for obtaining it here: https://www.abcnewsvsource.com/vsource/html/Ordering.htm Contact information is at the bottom of the page...I suggest an email with a copy of the description I provided, or if you prefer, a phone call. From experience, I know that news services like this one generally deal with professional production companies and other news organizations, and may be reluctant to deal with a personal request for information. Be politely firm and persistent with them, and hopefully, you'll get exactly what you need. If your interest is non-commercial, they may even be willing to make it available at no cost. Best of luck. pafalafa-ga search strategy -- Used bookmarked sites for newsreel archives |

ABC news doesn't sell videos for personal use, only for commercial use, and thus won't let me have it, because i'm not a commercial entity. I think, since you're a member of the site (clearly, thats how you got the information) you could've checked the FAQ and probably found that out, which is why I give you a poor score. |

Carol Channing was on Larry King Nov 27 2002 and I believe a 'clip' of Hello Lyndon was part of the show. http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0211/27/lkl.00.html Perhaps contacting these fellows will let you know exactly what the clips contained and if it has what you need a video copy of the show is available: TO ORDER A VIDEO OF THIS TRANSCRIPT, PLEASE CALL 800-CNN-NEWS OR USE OUR SECURE ONLINE ORDER FORM LOCATED AT www.fdch.com I checked the LBJ archives and the first.gov archives with no luck. Good luck with this. |

I have obtained an obscure CNN video before, and they really are quite helpful and persistent with finding videos. They have full-time workers just for this, and it might take them awhile, but they will try and they might be able to come through in the end. You do have to pay something to the tune of perhaps $40, though. Also, for one new clip, they no longer had the video but could only provide the transcript for some reason... Some videos just get lost over time. |
