What are the ten largest HOSTED data center operators in the world?
Largest is defined by square footage of total facilities that house
servers connected to the internet. HOSTED means that the servers are
operated for the purposes of a third party--example: The data center
that Citibank operates for their own use does not count, while the
data center operated by Cable and Wireless (formes Exodus facilities)
does count.
please provide URL's to the sources used for creating the list.

Yes, DLR and Equinix are good examples. Akamai is not. Akamai rents
the space for their servers. I'm interested in the comapnies that
actually own the datacenters and rent their capacity to third parties.
