I would like a list of English language weblog RSS/Atom feeds
organized by category where each category is ordered by the popularity
(as measured by overall number of subscribers) to the feed. The list
should contain only high quality weblogs, no mainstream news sources
or podcasts.

There are sites of which I am aware that provide some of this data but
not all of it. For example, Bloglines has a feed directory with
popularity, but it is not categorized and includes mainstream news and
podcasts. Bloglines also has "quick pick subscriptions" which are
categorized and close to what I need, but they include news sources
and podcasts. My Yahoo has a nice categorized list of feeds, but it
includes mainstream news and podcasts.

The ideal resource would be OPML files for many categories ordered by
popularity of English-only weblogs with no mainstream news sites or
podcasts included. Also fine would be text files with ordered lists
of URLs for feeds or web pages containing ordered lists of the URLs
for feeds.
