I'm looking for a song.

In the Thomas Crown Affair movie (the 1999 version), Pierce Brosnan
and Rene Russo dance to a sexy tune played by a band. According to the
movie's ending credits, and some online references, the song is called
"Cumenco." It was performed by the "Cumenco All-Stars," was written by
Raf S. Astor and Eddie Bobe, and was produced by Todd Barkan and Jim
Dunbar.

This song is *not* on the movie's soundtrack CD, and is not on iTunes.
In fact, it seems to be impossible to find.

If you can find a copy of the song that I can buy online, or download,
for $50 or less, you have answered my question.

Man, this is one tough nut to crack.

Why produce a great tune, and then make it impossible to find? What's
become of capitalism?

Anyway, the rights to the song are held by Sony:

You might want to give both Sony and ASCAP a call to see if you can
get any closer to an actual tune.

Best of luck, and let me know if it works out.

I have left messages with Raf Astor as well as GP Productions (trade
mark holders of Afro-Cumenco).

This is the most promising lead I have found so far. I should have an
answer for you in a day or so. It is very likely that the song
?Cumenco? is on either Raf Astor or Eddie Bobe?s CDs with another
name.

We will see what they say. I will post as soon as I get the reply.
Its funny how many times this question has been asked around the
internet.

I just got a message from Raf Astor.

"Thanks for your e-mail. There is a song it was based on, called "Bailla
mi Rumba" on my CD "El Andar" you can get at cdbaby.com. Thanks again. Raf"

This was after asking if Cumenco is available on any disk at all.
