I'm looking for a very specific recipe. I hope somebody out there can help.

Strangely, I have recently discovered that the "Tomatillo Red-Chili
Salsa" from "Chipotle Mexican Grill" (a nationwide Mexican food chain)
helps my asthma. It helps it more than my inhaler; it helps more than
any other salsas. Strange. While other super-hot foods have a
similar effect, it's never to the same level. This particular sauce
has something different--special. So, I want the recipe- ingredient
by ingredient- ounce by ounce- lime squeeze by lime squeeze. I want
to replicate this thing in my own kitchen an use it as home-made
medication!

My Internet searches revealed a multitude of great salsa/sauce
recipes. But I can't find Chipotle Mexican Grill's recipe for their
hottest, and most awesome sauce.

Please, somebody! Find me the recipe for Chipotle Mexican Grill's
flagship of salsas: their beautiful, red "Tomatillo Red-Chili Salsa."

My lungs will thank you. (Note: I am not looking for a generic recipe,
though similar ones are a welcome addition to the official answer.)

P.S. As crazy as this sounds, it's true!

It recently dawned on me that perhaps Chipotle obtains this salsa from
another company. I kinda doubt it, because Chipotle tends to do
everything itself. But if this is the case, perhaps the researcher
could find out where I could order the same salsa. It's worth a try!

If you go to Chipotle's website ( http://www.chipotle.com/ ) and click
on "Speak," you can submit a comment. (I imagine that Chipotle would
be pleased to hear that this salsa is beneficial to you.) While
Chipotle might not be willing to give out its specific recipe, it
might send a helpful reply to you.

I'd have to agree...

Unless Chipotle MG is willing to post it or give it to you all you are
going to get are 'replicas'.

Or are you asking for an 'insider' to give you corporate info...which,
in that case, GA researchers won't answer you.

Mmmmm Chipotle! Now I'm hungry.

I'm sure your local Chipotle would be happy to work out a deal with
you to take home a bottle every week at a not-too-outrageous cost.
There are friendly managers/owners to be found in most operations.

I searched a little and it sounds like it could be the peppers, cumin,
garlic, vinegar, etc. You could try the components in turn of chipotle
salsa.

Hi! I took justaskscott's suggestion and contacted Chipotle with my
question, reworded for them. I hope somebody in Corporate
Chipotle-land is kind enough ot send it!

Also, jack_of_few_trades I like your idea. I guess I'm a bit too
proud to go begging, though- lol. I might need to get over it!

stanmartin1952, thanks-- it might just come to me experimenting with
various ingredients. My own personal search revealed
http://www.chipotlefan.com/index.php?id=view_ingredient&IngredientID=6.
It shows that some of the ingredients are: pureed chiles de arbol,
tomatillos and fresh spices.

Thanks again everybody! I'll keep watching!

My hunch is that it is something to do with the chillis
- Capsaicin has pain relieving effects

My suspicion is that it dulls/slows some nerves, it certainly can have
an effect on my Trigeminal problem.

Asthma can be helped with certain breathing exercises.
