A friend and I a planning to make a road trip. We will be starting
from Houston, Texas (neither of us are from Houston) on November 5th
or 6th and have to end the trip on the morning of November 13th. I
have not seen any part of the southwest except for Dallas and Houston,
my friend has seen Houston and parts of Utah. We both enjoy the
outdoors but will not be camping on this trip. We love national parks,
I am interested in photography and we both love eating and enjoy
driving!
We need suggestions on what to see, where to stay, routes to take and
if you have suggestions places to eat.
One idea was to rent a car from Houston and drive west through Texas,
New Mexico, Arizona, leaving the car in Southern California (LA).
Another idea was to make a loop returning to Houston, but we did not
have any idea where we would go.
We do not need luxury accommodations and would be interested to do
this trip for fairly cheep (about $60-75 per person per day). We will
share hotel/motel rooms and certainly don't mind doing some driving
every day. It does not really matter where we end up as long as we can
get inexpensive flights from there to New York on the 13th of
November. |
