Hello perrenialstudent,

Ticketmaster suggests directions to the North Fork Theatre, including
the LIRR to Westbury plus a 2-mile cab ride.

"North Fork Theatre at Westbury"
Ticketmaster
http://www.ticketmaster.com/venue/141

The LIRR runs fairly often from Penn Station to Westbury and back.
You can see the schedules at:

"Schedules & Fares"
Long Island Railroad
http://lirr42.mta.info/

As for public transportation from Newark Liberty Airport to Penn Station, see:

"AirTrain Newark - Make the Connection to Long Island"
The Port Authority of NY & NJ
http://www.panynj.gov/airtrainnewark/fromNewark_LI.html

And, of course, you can take a taxi or rent a car for the entire trip,
if you're willing to pay for that option.

I wonder if you may mean "North Fork" or "Northfork" Theater.

I think perrenialstudent meant North Fork Theatre, also known as
Westbury Music Fair.
As I've looked, it's quite possible to get to the theatre by subway.
And it seems to be the easiest way after taxi.

For some information about Newark Intl Airport and the North Fork
Theatre you may look at the following pages.
http://rollnzoom.com/places/less/349/north_fork_theatre-stories.htm
http://rollnzoom.com/places/less/200/newark_liberty_intl_airport-photos.htm

There come photos and diagrams of each, rules of the Theatre, and
satellite photos from Google Earth.

Good luck in your efforts :)

Honestly, I suspect your best option might be to rent a car at Newark
Airport and drive yourself, using the driving directions from the
theater's website.

Taking a taxi from Newark Airport to Westbury is likely to be hugely
expensive, since you'd be talking about paying a NJ cabbie to take you
from New Jersey, into New York, through New York City, and past that
into Nassau County. If you can find a cabbie willing to drive you that
far, you're probably going to pay through the nose for it.

If you're committed to only public transportation, you could take a NJ
transit train from Newark Airport into Penn Station in Manhattan, then
get on a Long Island Railroad train to Westbury or Hicksville (I'm not
sure which of those two stops is closer to the North Fork Theater,
actually.) Then all you have to worry about is getting from the LIRR
station to the theater, but a taxi for that distance is probably much
more managable.
