Hello idosco~

According to a 2006 issue of Forbes magazine, Microsoft founder Bill
Gates is the wealthiest man in the world. ("Billionaire Bacchanalia,"
Forbes: http://www.forbes.com/free_forbes/2006/0327/111.html and "List
of Billionaires (2006):"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_billionaires_(2006) )

The magazine reports that this is Gates 12th straight year as world's
richest person, and that his fortune is up to $51 billion dollars.

Although the Forbes list does not include heads of states whose wealth
is tied to their nation, amazingly Gates even beats the world's
richest ruler, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, king of Saudi Arabia,
who's said to be worth $21 billion. ("List of Heads of Government and
State by Net Worth,"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_heads_of_government_and_state_by_net_worth
)

You can learn more about Bill Gates at his website (
http://www.microsoft.com/billgates/ ) .There are also a surprising
number of websites that are dedicated to Gate's wealth, including "The
Bill Gates Personal Wealth Clock:"
http://philip.greenspun.com/WealthClock .

Kind regards,
Kriswrite

While it's common sense that Gates is the richest, most of his money
is in stock and I've heard that others such as Warren Buffett and the
Wal-Mart family are richer in liquid (actual) assets. A quick search
couldn't find any results on this, but it would be interesting to
know.

$100 for such a simple question smells like an "is this a valid credit
card number" question (e.g. subject: dog, question: why? list price:
$200) that have been plaguing GA recently. are you sure you want to
answer these?

Funny how when a question asks about riches we automatically assume we
mean monetary wealth!
