I know it has created non-payment problems in the
past but I really need some ideas for a business name
as I have just been knocked back at registration
office when I thought I had the best possible name to
suit what I do. As such I very much welcome and hope
for some commenters suggestions but will of course
pay any genuine GA Research Consultant that offers a
few good names/ideas.

Essentially (in my spare time only) I roughly design
and then get manafactured simple but effective and
innovative gadgets/minor mechanical devices that save
time and labour, or work well where space is a real
problem.

A typical very simple example that perhaps gets the
picture across and that many would be aware would be as per one particular
episode of "The Apprentice". In that episode the two
teams were asked to design and manafacture something
completely new for the office desk. The winning team
came up with a revolving console( about!2'X 10") that
allowed easy storage and access to the whole gammut of
basic tools/equipmmet one keeps on an office desk,e.g
pens,manilla folders,staples,stapler,white-out etc,
etc. A company then went ahead and manfactured item and made
available for retail sales.

I do things either at that level but mostly a litle
more sophisticated than that with mechanical parts etc.

The name I wanted to run with was "WorkEasy" but
although no business in Australia has that exact name
it was considered too close to other trading names.

Any ideas from anyone at all please?? I would
expect the researcher claiming the fee would come up
with a handfull of good names at least.

 Thankyou,

 John From Melbourne

Clarification of Question by johnfrommelbourne-ga on 27 Oct 2006 03:41 PDT
Sorry but I cant answer any clarifications right at this moment (if
asked) as I am on my way to a hot date, as it were. As an aside
however can someone advise how easy or hard it is in your part of the
world to get up a one man sole proprietership business. I ask as I
thought it was especially easy here in my state Victoria,Australia as
basically it was fill in a form, pay a $75 fee and five minutes later
you are a business man/woman!!!

There is no answer at this time.

In the UK you just start trading
- a Ltd Liability company is £75 and a phone call away
- not necessary but it makes sme bozos think you are credible

Sounds to me as if you don't need to worry about a name

If you really want one then try 'Jonno's Special One Off Designs'

I love the word 'gizmo'. How about a variant of 'gizmo' as a business
name: Gizmode, Gizmaven, Gizmaker, Gizmore?

John ...

I always suspected but, until now, I never had confirmation that you were a genius.

Welcome to The Club!

Now, please tell how you managed to get a 'hot date'.

On the more trivial matter of a name, I was also going to suggest that
you get a UK company but MY PRICE (to you and to you only) would have
been £50. However, it would take some administering ... Accounts,
Returns, Tax stuff, etc. Not a good idea for someone living in the
Land of Oz.

Nevertheless, I have a SUPERB name for you.

Yes ... your troubles are over.

So, when you get back from your 'hot date' (next Thursday?) please
tell me that you love this ....

Maid in Melbourne

Clever, huh?

Brings in the 'hot date' stuff in a very subtle way.

All the Best

Thanks Bryan, Steph, Pink One etc; nice to hear from you all again in
a normal question/answer interchange of information. Hot date was OK
but you know what women are like nowdays; they expect great sex on the
first date and most being avid Cleo/Cosmo readers extrapolate that to
at least two orgasms before they are fully undressed as that is what
such magazines advise they should rightly expect.
