Is it illegal to wear a parachute on a commercial flight in the United States?

I have found information on an official website explaining that one
may carry a parachute onto a commercial flight in the United States.

I haven't found information about *wearing* a parachute, though I
think that would be quite uncomfortable and would raise suspicions
among flight crew.

Would information about carrying a parachute onto the plane be a sufficient answer?

The TSA states, "You may bring skydiving rigs with and without
Automatic Activation Devices (AAD) as carry-on or checked luggage." 
It explains the specifics of bringing those rigs with you.
