Hello California7,

According to the following article, identical twin women have only a
0.6% probability of having a twin birth.

?Women who are themselves fraternal twins have a 10% chance of
producing twins, identical twin women have only a 0.6% probability of
having a twin birth.

Once a woman conceives twins, she has a 5% (that's one in twenty)
chance of having twins again. There are no interesting parallels to
these percentages among dads! A man who is a twin has the same
probability of fathering twins as any other man.?

This article claims that if you are a twin and if you are identical,
it doesn't affect your chances, and they remain from 1 in anywhere
from 38 - 90, depending on if fertility drugs are used or not.

If You Are A Twin (Or Have Twins In Your Family):

?If you are a fraternal twin, you have a 1 in 17 chance of having
twins. If you are identical, it doesn't affect your chances, and they
remain from 1 in anywhere from 38 - 90, depending on if fertility
drugs are used or not. If your mother is a fraternal twin, you may
have a higher than average chance of twins. If you father is a twin
and you are a female, it may slightly increase your chances. If your
husband is a twin or has twins in his family, it doesn't affect your
chances of having twins.

If you have a parent that is an identical twin, your chance of having
twins yourself are the same as anyone else.?

?The hereditary part of having twins isn't for identical twins, but
for fraternal twins, where a woman ovulates two eggs rather than one.
That would be passed through the mother's side of the family, not the
father's. ?

?If the mother is herself a fraternal twin, the chances of having
twins increases about five-fold?
