Question ID: 778492
I'm trying to find the name of a movie I saw when I was a kid. It was
on tv about 20 yrs. ago. It was about a mansion haunted by a ghost
named Joseph, and the couple who was trying to find out the reason for
the haunting. They found out Joseph was a disabled child, the son of
the well-to-do mansion owner. Joseph was kept locked in the attic of
the house, out of sight of everyone because his father was ashamed of
having a disabled child. His father went as far as switching a
surrogate boy in his place to be his heir. The couple eventually find
out that Joseph was murdered by his father when he pushed him down a
flight of stairs in his wheelchair. {thus the haunting} The movie ends
with Josephs ghost some how burning down the mansion, and a scene at
the end with a shot of the smoldering house ... and Joseph laughing.
I remember many scenes in the show where the camera mimicked the
movement of the ghost floating around inside the house, and the ghost
whispering "Joseph" over and over.
I hope this helps you; some of my facts could be cloudy, being it
was so long a go since I've seen it. I appreciate your help.
