Dear jentlemaan,

This is an extremely complex question. Literally thousands of books
have been written about this topic. Even a very sketchy answer would
require tremendous work by a Researcher. In case you really want an
answer, I would suggest raising the fee significantly.

Best regards,
Scriptor

How detailed of an answer do you want? If you would like links to one
or two resources, some researchers might be willing to provide that
for $2.

Suggested reading: "Guns, Germs and Steel," Jared Diamond. The title
is his hypothesis.

I'd say the answer, in a nutshell, is guns and gold. The Europeans
were technologically sophisticated, which gave them the means to
travel the globe and the weapons to overwhelm native populations in
the Americas, Africa, and Asia. And they had the lust for gold, which
they amassed in prodigious quantities (especially from the New World)
and built the wealth to support continuing their exploits.

That's my 2 cents worth of a summary.
