I purchased, through download, the Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 for
the Mac (I am running system 10.4.8).  I find the online manuals
clumsy and difficult to read, and would like to purchase a book
explaining this program, such as  ".... for Dummies".  I see many
books listed for sale, but none mention whether they are for the Mac
version of this program.  Some come with CD instructional discs, but I
am guessing that they are for the PC.  Is there a book specifically
written for the Mac version?

Greetings, pdq2!

It seems that, because the Macintosh version of Photoshop Elements 4.0
was released several months later than the Windows version, publishers
either assumed that there would not be a Mac version, or they decided
that the Mac segment of the market was too small to bother with a
Mac-specific publication.

I have, however, found one resource which appears to be both Mac and
Windows combined. Would that be an acceptable alternative to you?

In addition, I have located a resource which is a little more
expensive than a book, but which is Mac-specific, and I could provide
you that information as well.

This 224-page book was released in March 2006 and costs $16.47 on Amazon.

I was able to determine that it covers both Windows and Macintosh by
doing "Search Within This Book" on Amazon, which revealed numerous
references describing Macintosh keystroke combinations. However, since
the two versions are very different, I am not able to judge how
helpful this book might be for Mac users.

Macintosh Tutorials for Photoshop Elements 4.

Atomic Learning appears to be a company with an excellent reputation
for its tutorials, but their program is not inexpensive: a one-year

software packages, as well as training and Tips and Tricks for the Mac

I would caution that many online subscription-based companies will
automatically renew your subscription at the end of the year by
charging your credit card, unless you notify them that you are
cancelling (although they are supposed to notify you before they

it offers that option. Otherwise, you will want to put a reminder to
yourself in your day planner or online calendar.
