I am supposed to write a paper on legal protection for "whistleblowing" in US companies. Could you point me to web sites or books that give an overview of whistleblowing laws and famous examples of whistleblowing? Thanks so much for your help. |

Hi mbarshman74, [Disclaimer: As noted at the bottom of this page, answers and comments provided on Google Answers are general information, and are not intended to substitute for informed professional legal advice.] The Wikipedia article on whistleblowers contains a substantial list of whistleblowers, as well as an overview of whistleblower law and books and links concerning whistleblowing. (While some teachers/professors do not consider Wikipedia itself to be a good source, you can use it as a starting point for research. For example, if you're particularly interested in Sherron Watkins of Enron, you might search on Google for something like: sherron watkins enron. Or, if you want information on the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, you might search for something like: "sarbanes oxley" whistleblower.) This is just lazy; type in "Whistleblower laws" into Google. First result: http://whistleblowerlaws.com/protection.htm Also try OSHA (who administers most federal whistleblower laws). http://www.osha.gov/dep/oia/whistleblower/index.html How come people can figure out Google Answers but they cannot manage Google the search engine? Ubiquity-ga-- Perhaps the asker simply wanted recommendations of GOOD websites or articles; that does not necessarily mean the top-ranked Google ones. Asking for a pointer in the right direction is not always laziness. In many cases, it's quite intelligent. --keystroke-ga |
